Now mostly active in the VR segment, Taiwanese HTC presented, with various functions and apps in tow, its Desire 22 Pro smartphone to enter the Metaverse.

During a local event scheduled for some time, Huang Zhaoying, general manager of the Asia Pacific division of HTC, unveiled the novelties of the Taiwanese brand from a Metaverse perspective, with an ad hoc smartphone attached.
It starts from the HTC Desire 22 Pro smartphone (166.3 x 76.9 x 9.4 mm, for 205. grams), presented as one of the cheapest devices to enter the Metaverse: the device, calibrated in the colors starry night black (Starry Night Black) and gold clear new wave (Wave Gold), with a chassis resistant to liquids and dust (IP67), has a front with a hole in the upper left for the selfiecamera, 32 megapixel, with facial unlock: the visual area, oblong with 20 : 9 aspect ratio and 120 Hz refresh rate, is entrusted to a 6.6-inch IPS LCD resolved in FullHD +, with small curvatures on the sides and the ability to support the playback of high-resolution videos protected via HDCP 2.2 (eg for Netflix and Disney +).
The back offers the classic vertical traffic light on the left, above the LED flash, for a triple camera, with a main sensor of 64 (f / 1.79), one ultra-wide angle (123 °) of 13 (f / 2.4) and one for depth 5 megapixel (f / 2.4): The camera app supports night mode, hand motion shutter, video anti-shake, and slow motion at 120 frames per second. On the side, in the power button, the fingerprint scanner is camouflaged.
The processing engine of the HTC Desire 22 Pro is the octacore processor (2.2 GHz) Snapdragon 695 paired by Qualcomm with the Adreno 619 GPU, with modem (X51) for 5G and (Qualcomm FastConnect 6200) for Wi-Fi ac dual band 2 × 2 and for Bluetooth 5.2: RAM reaches 8 GB while storage, from 128 GB, can be expanded (+ 1 TB) via microSD. On the energy level, the device has a 4,520 mAh battery, which can be charged quickly and wired via Type-C at 18W, in wireless Qi at 15W, also prepared for reverse wireless charging.
On the subject of Metaverse, the HTC Desire 22 Pro smartphone will be integrated, on Android 12, with various ad hoc apps, such as the VIVE Browser (to quickly enter the Viveverse owner of the brand), the VIVE Crypto Wallet, the VIVE Mall store ( e.g. to buy NFT, cryptocurrency Polygon or Ethereum), and the VIVE Avatar to create your own full-length alter egos, also allowing wireless connection with the VIVE Flow viewer, on which to browse the apps or enjoy your favorite streams while benefiting from one 300 ”simulated screen.
Sales of the HTC Desire 22 Pro begin on 1 July, at a price of 11,990 Taiwanese dollars (approximately 382 euros) including, in a limited edition for the first buyers, of the “Metaverse Early Bird Package”, which brings as a dowry, among the other things, the HTC Desire 22 Pro Dual – Material Shockproof Case, the HTC Wireless Charging Disk, the Exclusive Limited Cat. Art Museum NFT Blind Box (with two unreleased NFTs) and the “Limited VIVERSE World” (to create one private space in the Metaverse, destined to also translate into the related NFT).
