Instagram now allows you to edit written text but there is a time

Anyone has wished at least once to be able to take back what they said or rather, wrote on any messaging app, even after pressing the “send” button. Fortunately, many very famous messaging applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram have already offered the possibility of modify messages after sending them. Now it’s the turn of another excellent customer, that is Instagram.

The platform dedicated to reels, stories and posts is finally reaching other apps with this new feature.

Instagram finally integrates the editing of messages already sent, how it works

Meta recently released a software update for Instagram, introducing the long-awaited feature that allows editing messages in DM. However, there is a small impediment that will concern users, a limitation more than anything else: modifying the message sent is only possible for the first 15 minutes after it has been sent. To edit a text, simply press and hold the sent message and then select the item “edit” from the drop-down menu.

In addition to the editing functionality, the recent update that Meta has introduced also allows the ability to secure up to three of your favorite conversations at the top of your feed. This is especially useful for ongoing conversations. To start a conversation, just press and hold the chat and then tap on “Fixed” which will appear in the menu.

In addition to these new changes, Instagram’s update offers a new, easier way to manage read receipts. Now the user can choose to activate o deactivate read receipts for all your chats or choose specific ones based on your preferences.

To activate everything you simply need to go to your account settings and choose the item “Messages and responses to stories“. This update brings a breath of fresh air for Instagram users who increasingly see the application getting closer to WhatsApp.
