The goal of Apple with the new release of the operating system iOS 17 was to give users many new possibilities. Various functions have been implemented but also various conveniences that initially went unnoticed.
One of these concerns the unlock code of the iPhone. Apple has chosen to facilitate all those who in some cases may be slightly forgetful, by applying a change that in the past many would have wanted.
It could happen to everyone to change the iPhone passcode and then forget it soon after. This time, however, it will not be necessary to panic: iOS 17 will allow access anyway by providing a “plan b”. When the new update officially arrives, users will be able to fix the issue using the old code.
Forgot new unlock code? iOS 17 allows you to use the old
The feature that iOS 17 has implemented will solve the problem for many users who usually run into such situations, but there are some clarifications to be made. Apple has in fact provided a time limit within which you will be able to use the old unlock code to access your iPhone.
This means that after that period, it will no longer be possible to go back except by remembering the new password set. iOS 17 allows you to use the old code within 72 hours. There will therefore be three days to avoid initializing the iPhone.
The screenshots published on the net show the functioning of the feature which takes place in a guided way. In fact, after having entered the wrong new password, users will find themselves faced with a dedicated item that will allow them to solve the problem.
The next screen will invite you to choose the only available item with the writing “Try password recovery“, to then arrive at the insertion of the old code. Once entered, iPhone will allow you to set a new passcode, but this time it is best not to forget it.
