The post-holiday restart, loaded with hardware announcements, was no exception with Huawei, with the Chinese brand that has unveiled a new tablet for productivity, but also entertainment, as the new MatePad 10.4 2022.
As part of the All-Scenario Smart Life strategy that recalibrates Huawei’s commitment to the smart office, the Chinese brand has announced, already available for purchase on the official store, the MatePad 10.4 2022 tablet.
The new tablet (245.2 x 154.96 x 7.35 mm, for 450 grams) is characterized by a design in continuity with the previous models, and that is inspired by the iPad rivals: a small variation, however, was introduced with the realization of micro-curved frames that allow the device to both look thinner and be more comfortable when held in the hand. Frontally, the MatePad 10.4 2022 mounts a 10.4-inch IPS LCD display, resolved at 2,000 x 1,200 pixels, therefore in 2K, with 470 nits of brightness, anti blue light and flicker measures (as per TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications ), and 84% screen-to-body (FullView).
The 8 megapixel self-camera (f / 2.0, fixed focus) is placed along the long upper side, while on the back, together with the LED flash, there is a mono camera, 13 megapixel (f / 1.8) with autofocus: still on the on the multimedia side there are 4 speakers calibrated by Harman Kardon and optimized via Huawei Histen, as well as 3 microphones.
The octacore processor (2.0 GHz) is a proprietary chip made by SMIC with 14 nanometer lithography, or the Huawei Kirin 710A, with the Mali-G51 MP4 graphics card clocked by ARM up to 1.000 MHz of frequency: the RAM, from 4 GB, is put in tandem with the other memory, the storage, provided in the sizes of 64 and 128 GB, expandable via microSD up to 512 GB.
On the energy level, there is the 7,250 mAh battery (28 days of standby or 12 hours local video playing at 1080p), subject to fast charging (completely in 2.5 hours) via 22.5W Huawei SuperCharg and microUSB 2.0 Type-C: the connectivity provided in the MatePad 10.4 2022 instead provides for Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi ac Dual Band, optional 4G LTE, GPS (A-GPS, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass). The operating system, on the other hand, is HarmonyOS 2.0, with the App Gallery, and the Multi-Window functions (4 windows dedicated to different apps), App Multiplier (to use in landscape mode the apps that would not support it when the device is kept horizontally), Huawei Share (to easily move files cross-device, for example with a Huawei PC), without forgetting the multi-screen features (in the forms Mirror, Extend and Collaborate) and wireless desktop.
To date, the MatePad 10.4 2022 in the wireless version is listed on the official store at 249.90 euros for 64 GB of storage and at 299.99 euros for 128 GB: the purchase by May 10 will give the right to have the MatePad Flip Cover as a gift, and to be able to add – at the discounted price of 39.90 euros – either the FreeBuds 4i or the M-Pencil 2 (4,096 pressure levels, double tap to take notes anywhere on the screen, Flexcil function to drag elements taken from a PDF to personal notes, annotations while listening to a recording, mouse pointer that when placed on an app displays its content and launches the command).
