As already done in 2019, also this year, after a few months from the debut, Philips has communicated the prices and the base recaps for some of its most recent smart TVs ready to arrive on the Italian market: in this case, the series, a LCD base, are The One 8887/8517/8507 and 8007, united by the use of Smart TV firmware (based on Android TV 11), UltraHD HDR resolution, and immersive Ambilight rear lighting.

The One 8887 series comes in three diagonals, with the 43 “(43PUS8887 / 12) priced at 799 euros, the 50” (50PUS8887 / 12) at 899 euros, and the 55 “(55PUS8887 / 12) sold at 999 euros. On a visual level, certified support for HDR10 (also Plus), HLG, Dolby Vision, as well as the Direct LED backlight, you can benefit from 100/120 Hz refresh rate, the FreeSync Premium, and the optimizations guaranteed by the 5th generation processor P5. On the audio side (20W 2.0 system), there is instead support for the Dolby Atmos standards and, for the multi-room, DTS Play-Fi.

To coordinate everything, on the hardware side, is the Mediatek MT9970 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, which also offers support for Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac. On the back, in addition to the Ambilight lighting on 3 sides interacting with the HUE one, there are 4 HDMI ports, two of which 2.1 with VRR between 40 Hz and 120 Hz, 48 Gbps, UHD @ 120Hzm ALLM, eARC (on the second of the HDMI 2.1 ).

The Android TV 11 operating system perfectly manages the various sources, including the hybrid television HbbTV 2.0.3 and the decoders for digital terrestrial (DVB-T2) and satellite (DVB-S2): control is via the standard remote control with Assistant (Alexa is supported via compatible speakers) which, on the back, has a QWERTY keyboard.

Differentiated in the chromatic design, with anthracite gray scattered on the frame and base in the first series, and the use of light silver for the finishing of the frames and base in the second series, the smart TVs The One 8517 and 8507 share the same technical expertise: the UltraHD resolution with Direct LED backlighting here discounts a lower refresh rate value, from 50/60 Hz, although the optimizations of the fifth gen of the P5 image processor and support for the HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR 10 standards remain +. The audio system, 2.0 20W with Dolby Atmos and DTS Play-Fi, is still present.

Not even the MT9970 processor changes, always with RAM and storage of 4 + 16 GB, and the presence of Wi-Fi 5 dual band and BT 5.0 connectivity: among the sources, the user can count, in addition to streaming from Android TV 11, also on decoders for satellite and digital terrestrial, with interactive and extra content via hybrid TV HbbTV 2.0.3. The back still involves, visually, with the Ambilight combination on 3 sides that synchronizes with the HUE bulbs in the house, and presents the HDMI ports in the form of a poker of inputs including two fulfilling the 2.1 specifications with eARC (on the 2nd), ALLM, VRR (here however with excursus from 48 to 60 Hz). The remote control is always the standard one, with Assistant supported directly via microphone (while Alexa requires compatible speakers).

In this case, in terms of distribution, The One 8517 series offers the 43-inch 43PUS8517 / 12 model for 699 euros, the 50-inch 50PUS8517 / 12 model for 799 euros, and the 58-inch 58PUS8517 / 12 model at 899 euros. On the other hand, the The One 8507 series, always tripartite in size, prices the 43PUS8507 / 12 model from 43 “to 699 euros, the 50” – 50PUS8507 / 12 – to 799 euros, and the 58PUS8507 / 12 58-inch model to 899 euros. .

Tail light, always complete with a standard remote control, the 8007 series does not declare the Full LED-style backlight seen on the The One above. Here, however, the UHD resolution is present, with a basic refresh rate, from 50/60 Hz, and support for the HDR10, HLG, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision standards: the image processor changes, falling back on the Pixel Precise Ultra HD. Turning to the audio, the DTS Play-Fi is lost, with the 2.0 20 W audio system which, however, does not miss Dolby Atmos.

At the helms of command, a different processing structure operates to coordinate everything, with an MT9288 processor that can count on 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, again for Android 11 TV: S2 and T2 decoders confirmed, and hybrid TV HbbTV 2.0.2, connectivity partially varies since, together with Bluetooth 5.0, there is Wi-Fi n. On the back, the 3-sided lighting of the Ambilight remained, but not even the integration with the HUE: the HDMI ports are 4, but the two HDMI 2.1 here only support VRR (48 to 60 Hz).

The prices, then, provide 579 euros for the 43-inch version 43PUS8007 / 12, which rise to 699 for the 50PUS8007 / 12 from 50 “, to 799 for the 55PUS8007 / 12 from 55”, to 999 for the 65PUS8007 / 12 from 65 ″ and, finally, at 1,099 euros for the 70PUS8007 / 12 70-inch model.
