Wear OS is about to reach its fourth iteration, expected for the end of 2023. Last May, on the occasion of the Google I/O 2023 event, in addition to the release of Android 14 Beta 2, the distribution of theWear OS 4 preview for developers. Subsequently, however, the Big G did not say much about the smartwatch operating system. Thanks to industry tipsters, we now have new clues about it: the Mountain View company could be launching a Wear OS Beta Program to allow all users to try out the new features coming to Pixel Watch and other smart watches.

As discovered by 9to5Googlethe words “Wear OS Beta Program” have appeared within the Android Beta website for the Pixel – you can even see it in the source code Pixel Watch Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and Pixel Watch 4G LTE and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, smartwatches that will presumably support the Beta program from its launch.
To date, remember, Google already offers the project try Beta preview for Pixel smartphones and for the operating system of the little green robot. A similar offer for Pixel Watch would be a natural and logical step, also in order to convince developers to buy the proprietary smartwatch instead of waiting for updates for competitor models, such as the much-blamed Samsung Galaxy Watch or cheaper models from brands like Xiaomi and TicWatch.
Most likely the Beta Program will start over the next few months allowing registered devices to receive continuous updates – including QPR quarterly releases – with new features and, of course, bugs to fix in view of the stable release of the next major update.
