Despite a semester where the focus on Threads seems to have been swarming, 2023 was undoubtedly a positive year for the new app in the Meta ecosystem.

Specifically, considering App Store Of Applethe software linked to the messaging platform ranked at the sixth place of the most downloaded apps. In the context di Google Playon the other hand, Threads placed slightly lower, still achieving a more than decent rating eighth position.
The app in question debuted last July, literally making a splash: 100 million downloads in less than a week which earned Threads the record for the most downloaded application ever. Since then, however, numbers and general attention have inexorably decreased.
The peak of active users occurred on July 7con 49.3 million daily users. However, the following month, the numbers had already dropped dramatically: the August 7in fact, they were registered on Threads 10.3 million of users (data provided by Similarweb).

In the months following the launch, Meta has shown its desire to develop and improve the app, including several very useful features. Despite this, public response was lukewarm and only a partial recovery in December allowed developers to maintain some optimism for the future.

Taking a look at the general ranking, it is possible to appreciate how Instagram both the most downloaded app last month, with over 54 million downloads between App Store and Google Play. Meta’s social network has therefore defeated a formidable opponent such as TikTokstopped at 47 million downloads.
