Threads, the social competitor of X, is now also available in Europe

The day has finally come, that of Threads debut in Europe (and other European Union countries). The new social networking in Meta it is a direct competitor of X, Elon Musk’s digital marketplace which has been facing few “ups” and many “downs” in recent months. Debuted in the summer in the United States, the social network is now also available in Europe after a necessary alignment with European regulations regarding privacy.

X trembles: Threads arrives in Europe, millions of new users ready to sign up to the social network

The similarities between Threads and X are evident, and not just for a purely aesthetic reason (the UIs are quite similar). The one from Meta, which you can sign up to using the own Instagram accountallows you to follow other users and be followed, to use hashtags, to publish multimedia content (photos and videos) and – above all – to share textual content. In short, the tweets of that platform known as Twitter until a few months ago.

However, there are also features not available on the rival service, such as the possibility of creating private groups, accessing exclusive content shared by celebrities and use animated emoji to interact with posts published by other users. Nothing revolutionary, of course, but they are still features that could be of interest to most users.

Speaking of users, after the debut with fireworks in the United States of America (in the period of greatest difficulty for X), interest in Threads seems to have decreased. With the introduction of important improvements (including a tool to combat the spread of fake news) and above all the launch in the European Union, there might be a new exploitwith a consequent number of active users destined – perhaps – to reach high figures.

For anyone who wants to try the new Meta social network, Threads is available via web browser and above all via the free applications for iOS/iPad and Android devices.
