Windows 11, update problems. What is happening to users

Following the official release of the23H2 update Of Windows 11reports from various users who have encountered problems with their computer have multiplied on the web.

Although this update brought many features and fixes to make the system operational more stableIn fact, something doesn’t seem to have gone right and many have complained drastic drop in performanceespecially with games.

To be fair, these reports come from a small number of people and, fortunately, they are not affecting all computers without distinction. The first hypothesis, therefore, is that it could only concern computers of certain brands o specific games installed (the reports refer to all AAA titles).

There are no concrete answers to the dilemma yet but still Microsoft has already provided a solution to its users. Let’s find out more.

What happens with the Windows 11 23H2 update

As just said, despite the many new features introduced by Microsoft with this update (including the long-awaited Copilot), many users have registered decidedly fluctuating performance with some games, making the use of the latter practically impossible.

After the first “field tests” with some of the most famous titles of recent years, users noticed that the execution of the software in question was much more tiringwith many drops in frame rate e slowdowns which, up to that point, had never been found.

Doing the temperature testFurthermore, it has been established that the problem is not due to throttling, the procedure that lowers the operating frequency of the processor to maintain the temperature at acceptable levels. Therefore, without any doubt, the malfunction is due to the update of Windows 11 which contains within it some specifications that conflict with the games.

How to solve the problem

Initially, some users suggested that it was possible downgrade to the previous version of Windows and fix the problem.

Fortunately, however, Microsoft has thought of an alternative solution which, although not the simplest, solves the problem.

First you have to restart your PC and activate the CPU virtualization options from the BIOS settings. In this sense it is good to remember that the procedure changes depending on the motherboard and CPU installed, so it is always good to have a guide available for your hardware specifications.

Subsequently, the center will need to be opened Windows Security, go to the tab Device security and enable the function Memory integrity in Core Isolation settings.

Once this is done, all that remains is restart and, if everything has been followed to the letter, the computer will go back to working as usual.

At the moment Microsoft has not yet given an explanation for this inconvenience but it could be one some settings of Copilot which may conflict with other software.

In any case, for those who are not practical or do not want to risk worsening the situation, they can always wait for him to come next update released which will almost certainly automatically resolve the situation.
