With its platform of cloud gaming, Microsoft shook up the gaming industry. All you need is a subscription (monthly or annual) to access a vast catalog of video games, including AAA. But why stop at devices like smart TVs, monitors, smartphones and tablets? In the future (or rather, in the present) of Xbox Cloud Gaming there is also the virtual realitythanks to a newly announced partnership with Meta.
The Microsoft platform that gamers like so much is now available on Meta’s range of VR viewers. At the moment it is possible to access the service via the beta version of the app for Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro. The app can already be downloaded via the Meta Quest Store (also in Europe), and requires a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimatea compatible controller and – since it is a streaming experience – a stable and fast Internet connection.
Among the highlighted titles are Starfield (the space adventure that has been enormously successful recently), Halo Infinity, Forza Motorsport, Fallout 4, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Goat Simulator, LEGO Star Wars and many others.
To play, just download the aforementioned app and follow the tutorial to pair the Bluetooth controller (like the one for Xbox Series X | S, for example). Once pairing is complete, you need to sign in to your Microsoft account with an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. For new members there is likely to be a trial period to take advantage of.
Once logged in, the user can choose between four different display sizes and immerse yourself in Xbox-themed virtual space. Alternatively, there is the Passthrough mode (Quest 3 and Pro only), which also shows your surroundings.
