XMG, the videogame brand of the German group Schenker Technologies, returning to the field after the great innovations revealed with the Neo series laptops, has updated both the Fusion 15 gaming laptops, now in the M22 version, and the Pro models, now in the E22 version.

Compared to the model seen at IFA 2019, the new XMG Fusion 15 M22 measures 35.6 x 23.4 x 21.7 cm, with a weight very similar to the origins, from 1.94 kg. Wide open, it reveals, tiltable 180 ° on a flat surface, a resolute 15.6-inch IPS LCD screen in WQHD, with 165 Hz refresh rate and 95% coverage on the sRGB color space. In comparison, the camera body, surmounted by an optomechanical keyboard with RGB lighting, offers several ports on the sides, including a USB Type-C 4.0 with Thunderbolt 4, a normal SD card reader, an HDMI 2.1, the 3.5 mm combo jack , a Gigabit Ethernet (2.5 GbE) and a trio of USB 3.2 Type-A.

The interior, along with a 93 Wh battery, features an 11th gen Intel processor with 10 nanometer SuperFin lithography, the i7-11800H, an octacore (4.60 GHz maximum) with 16 threads, flanked by dedicated Nvidia GPUs of your choice between a GeForce RTX 3070 with 125 watts, which can be increased by 20 in benchmark mode via Control Center, and the RTX 3060, with 115 watts, which can be increased by 10 in the same way.

The RAM, of the DDR4-3200 RAM type, can reach a maximum of 64 GB, while the M.2 SSD storage can count on two slots (only one of which with a PCIe 4.0 interface). The processing section is overseen by enlarged fans but always with a “low frequency acoustic profile”, which give their best in the balanced profile, where performance, compared to the peak one, is reduced by only 10% while, on the other hand , gains its silence, with an operating noise under load equal to 42 decibels (vs the 53 of the maximum profile). Equipped with Wi-Fi 6, the new XMG Fusion M22 starts at 1,499 euros, with 16 GB of RAM (two banks of 8) and 500 GB of SSD (Samsung 980).

Moving on to the Pro E22 models, the latter are cadenced in two diagonals for 4K screens, both sharing the X-Rite factory calibration. The 15.6-inch model (35.8 x 24 x 2.49 cm for 2.4 kg) can be preferred in OLED UHD, IPS WQHD LCD with 165 Hz refresh rate q or in 144 Hz FullHD IPS. The 17.3-inch variant (39.6 x 26.2 x 2.49 cm for 2.8 kg) offers only two options, including the UHD IPS and the 165 Hz WQHD IPS. The webcam is FullHD.

Under the keyboard, with single-key RGB backlighting, a redesigned thermal dissipation system allows Intel 12th gen H-series processors, including the i7-12700H and i9-12900H, to perform at their best, drawing on all the ” energy required (80 Wh battery), with the graphics processing delegated to Nvidia graphics cards, starting (only in the small model) from the RTX 3060, to go up to the 3070 Ti and get to the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti you benefit from 16 GB of memory VRAM reserved. It should be noted that, even in this series of notebooks, it is possible to sprint the performance of the dedicated GPU, with the Dynamic Boost 2.0 which, bringing in 15 watts, pushes the TGP of the aforementioned graphics cards to 120, 125 and 135 watts. In memory quota, the XMG Pro M2 make use of a DDR4-3200 RAM, portable to 64 GB through the two SO-DIMM slots and, as for storage, two slots for M.2 SSD with PCIe 4.0 interface.

Connected with Wi-Fi 6E, the new XMG Pro E22 have combo output for audio, USB 3.2 Type-C for Thunderbolt 4, a mini Display Port 1.4, an HDMI 2.1, a pair of USB 3.2 Type- A, the RJ45 for Gigabit (GbE) Ethernet, and the slot for microSD memory cards. In cauda venenum, that is the prices: the 15-inch model starts from 1,979 euros, a figure for which you get IPS Full HD from 144 Hz, i7, RTX 3060, 16 + 500 GB, while the 17 “version starts from 2,499 euro, with the 165 Hz WQHD IPS screen on board supported by the RTX 3070 Ti GPU.
