When Google sanctioned the transition from Play Music to YouTube Music, there was not a very enthusiastic general reception towards the new platform, which was considered too incomplete compared to the previous one.
Over time, however, various restylings have arrived, a bouquet of over 50 million songs, the ability to upload your own music, get location-based recommendations, download music manually or automatically (intelligent downloads), by selecting your favorite artists and streaming quality (with also options to save data traffic, such as converting video only to audio and not playing animated thumbnails).
Others have just been added to these innovations, as announced by the 9to5google and Android Police portals. Specifically, making use of the “show media advice” function of Android 12, YouTube Music, when connecting a device for playback via Bluetooth or using the microUSB Type-C door, shows a advice card, which highlights how the themselves are taken from YM, since on the left is the YouTube Music logo and label, and on the right 3 tips in the form of a playlist.
This compact card appears both on the lock screen and in the notification area: in the latter case, by lowering the notification curtain, the card extends to include shortcuts to 6 playlists. By touching one of the shortcuts, without being taken to the app, the playback of what you have chosen will start automatically in the background. To renounce this opportunity, the advice must be disabled globally, by entering the system settings under Sounds and vibrations, choosing the Media section and acting on the option “Show advice on media”.
The second novelty, on the other hand, concerns the personalized radio playlists (based on recent listening sessions, containing general topics, such as the pop hits of 2010, and the songs of favorite artists), has resulted in their wider diffusion than what done initially since last January.
