Google, which has always been very attentive to its YouTube streaming service, has recently published on its official blog a highlights relating to the latest updates brought to YT, including some small best hidden past, and has launched an award campaign for the most loyal users of the service. Premium.

The first news in YouTube share has materialized in the past few hours, when Google published the June report with the highlights relating to the new functions recently launched. In the published post, it is recalled that longer playlists, when played on Android or sent to casting, after several songs are no longer played in random order. There was no lack of mention of correcting a rare problem that led to the same artists being recommended on the radio.

“Relaxed” listening is also improved, so much so that you don’t always have to look for the next great piece to listen to yourself, since on Music the radio listening experience has been perfected, on a par with the way in which they are recommended on the mother platform the mixes. An underlining of the advantage of the YouTube offer, compared to its competitors, then came to YouTube Music, when looking for a song, with the “More from YouTube” shelf, which provides, in addition to the official song sought, also the most popular covers , or the related remixed, acoustic and live versions.

At the bottom of the feeds relating to the “Focus” and “Relax” moods comes the “Prolonged Listening” shelf, which allows, for when you need to relax or concentrate on an activity, to find high quality music suitable for prolonged listening. There was no lack of mention of the redesign of the “Listen again” shelf, which – according to Mountain View – “combines both your recent plays and all-time favorites in one place“.

Among the new functions that may have gone unnoticed, Google highlighted a better selection of artists for new subscribers, who will also benefit from the “Quick Picks” welcome shelf, the arrival – on YouTube performed at smart TVs – of a shelf of advice music that makes it unnecessary to open YouTube Music, and the fact that, now, among the suggestions, there are also playlists created by users.

Finally, a small news emerged thanks to a report on Reddit: apparently, Google would be giving away a year of free subscription to YouTube Premium. The benefit, worth $ 119.99 per year, would be granted as a gift to anyone who has been subscribing to YouTube Premium for more than 6 years (in the reported case, the beneficiary subscribed in May 2016, with the service actually launched in 2015 under the name of YouTube Red). According to some users, however, the “Members since” date counted by Big G would not take into account the years paid to the music service when it was called Google Play Music, given that it would start from when the migration to YouTube Music would have been made.
