As announced in recent days on Weibo, the Chinese brand Coolpad has announced an interesting mid-range smartphone, the Coolpad Cool 20s, available for pre-order starting from 999 yuan, equal to about 142 euros, in the colors Firefly Black, Moon Shadow White and Azure Blue, for the 4 + 128 GB configuration. On the other hand, purchases will be possible, again in China, from 17 June.
The new Coolpad Cool 20s has a slim (8.28 mm) and fairly light (180 grams) frame with a 3D curved design to improve grip when held in the hand. Frontally adopts the old trick of the drop notch, for the selfiecamera, from 8 megapixels: the screen is a 6.58 inch LCD panel, in FullHD + resolution (1080p), with a dynamic refresh rate up to 90 Hz (which can be lowered to improve the autonomy, which can be increased eg to play Honor of Kings), with support for the DCI-P3 “Hollywood movie color standard” and 96% NTSC color gamut.
The audio is expressed in the 3.5 mm mini-jack and in the two symmetrical 1318 speakers with a super high volume mode, capable of increasing it up to 200% in favor of the elderly: the fingerprint scanner is located on the side.
Behind, with a “lollipop” look, the sensors of the dual camera are stacked on the left: the latter, optimized with ArcSoft algorithms, is made up of a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8, super mode night scene, 4-in-1 pixel binning for brighter photos with little noise even in low ambient light) and a 2 megapixel macro pixel.
The 7-nanometer Mediatek Dimensity 700 octactor processor (2.2 GHz), flanked by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, brings 5G to the Dual SIM with dual stand-by, and cooperates with up to 8 GB of RAM, virtually extendable by 5 GB (total: 13 GB), and with 128 GB of storage. On the energy side, the Coolpad Cool 20s, animated by Android 11 under the COOLOS 2.0 interface, offers a 4,500 mAh battery, which can be quickly charged, via microUSB Type-C, at a speed of 18W.
