ZenScreen Go: Asus presents the new portable monitor with battery and wireless casting

It was as far back as 2019 when the Taiwanese brand Asus, at the Computex fair in Taipei, showed different interpretations of the concept of secondary screen, to increase the work and leisure space. On that occasion, among the many products presented by this company, some portable battery-powered monitors also appeared, whose experience has just been resumed with the launch (at a price of 569 euros) of the new ZenScreen Go (MB16AWP) .

The new portable monitor from Asus, thanks to its dimensions (358 x 225 x 11.5 mm, for 1.09 kg by adding the tilting stand), can be easily transported and, once extracted from the case or bag, placed on its stand or mounted, thanks to the 1/4 ”connection, on a tripod.

At that point, through the gyroscope that will recognize its orientation, vertical or horizontal, once turned on, it will show the contents on the screen correctly, a 15.6-inch IPS LCD (178 °) backlit with LEDs up to 220 nits, edited according to an aspect ratio at 16: 9 in FullHD resolution, with a good response time (5 ms GtG) albeit not exciting (60 Hz) in the refresh rate, with a good contrast (1,200: 1) which helps to make it non-stressful for eyesight, together with the anti-reflection treatment, the low blue light emission and the anti-flicker system (the latter two aspects certified by TÜV Rheinland).

The Asus ZenScreen Go is equipped with a 7,800 mAh battery, which allows it to do without power for 3 and a half hours and, for the transfer of contents, if you do not want to draw on the hassle of a cable (via USB Type- C or mini-HDMI), allows wireless content mirroring via Miracast and support for AirPlay 2, from smartphones (Android, iOS) and computers (macOS, Linux and Windows from 10 onwards).

Also suitable for entertainment, as confirmed by the presence of the 3.5 mm jack alternative to its two speakers of 1 watt each, the Asus ZenScreen Go comes with a month of free subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, with the benefit of 100 GB of storage online and the use as a service of software such as Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop (also Espress), InDesign and Premiere Pro.
