For Apple, the EU represents only 7% of App Store revenue

One week after the announcement of Apple of the changes onApp Store related to Digital Markets Act (DMA) of the EUthe Cupertino giant has revealed how for its digital store the old continent represents just the 7% of global revenues.

The information was released by Luca Masterschief financial officer of the company, who also stressed that the economic impact of these changes will largely depend on the approach of the developers.

Because of the DMA, Apple must open up to alternative app stores and allow developers to use third-party payment platforms. In this sense, the company still aims to obtain revenue charging a fee for each app downloaded when a software exceeds one million downloads.

In this time of change, the App Store still remains a huge source of revenue for Apple. Last quarter, in fact, the platform achieved I got a recordwith a total turnover reaching i 23.1 billion per year as regards the digital store only.

Apple and DMA: big changes ahead and a hail of criticism

Apple is apparently exploring several avenues to increase App Store revenue.
