In the rich Xiaomi event, the Chinese technological giant also dedicated itself to wearable accessories, in the guise of true wireless earphones Redmi Buds 4 also Pro and Xiaomi Mi Band 7 smartband.

Abandoning the phones, we enter the wearable, with the Redmi Buds 4 earphones (199 yuan, 28 euros) and Buds 4 Pro (369 yuan, 52 euros): the former have a more compact shape reminiscent of that of the Buds 3 Pro, while the latter – like the Xiaomi Buds 3, are in-ear with small stems for touch controls. By abandoning the semi in-ear form factor, the base model can indulge in active noise cancellation, ANC, up to 35 dB, while the Pro model raises the ANC up to 43 decibels.

The autonomy also differentiates the Buds 4 earphones, which ensure up to 30 hours with the case, against 45 for the Buds 4 Pro model (9 for the units + 36 with the case). To deserve the increased expense for the Pro model, however, there are other elements: the Bluetooth 5.3, equipped even with a multi-certified low latency mode (59 ms), thanks to the LC3 codec it supports Hi-Fi audio which is added to the debut of 360 ° immersive audio.

The thriving Xiaomi event presented by CEO Lei Jun also uncovered the Xiaomi Band 7 (in promo launch at 239 yuan 33 euros), also in the NFC version for the AliPay payment circuit (about 45 euros).

The new, light (13 grams) and waterproof (50 meters / 5 atmospheres) capsule smartband of the big X increases the AMOLED display, now also with Always-on, bringing it to 1.62 ″ resolved at 490 x 192 pixels (326 PPI) with ad hoc watchfaces. Among the functions, the ability to monitor the quality of sleep and, continuously 24/7, both the saturation of oxygen in the blood (SpO2, with vibrating alert for values ​​below 90%) and the heart rate stand out.

The ability to count the calories burned and the number of steps taken remains but, unfortunately, in favor of the over 100 sports activities covered, the GPS was not provided even if, on the other hand, the function of the Excess Postexercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC ), which like a coach, by quantifying the necessary recovery time, allows you to improve performance by maximizing your efforts. Thanks to the microphone, voice commands to the XiaoAI assistant (replaced with Alexa in the West) are supported. The 180 mAh battery promises up to 14 days of autonomy.
