Meta: low hits on TikTok, all-in on the Metaverse, Reactions for the Reels and much more

Reassured by an agreement between the US and Europe regarding the flow of user data, Meta – formerly Facebook Inc – has organized itself to put a dangerous rival in a bad light, but also to develop its Metaverse, to the sound of assumptions and agreements for 3D advertising. In between, there was no shortage of small coasters, such as the ongoing development of the Reactions for the Reels in blue sauce.

In terms of future projects, according to the leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, Meta would be considering the hypothesis, to which he is dedicating himself during the development, of being able to allow a new way of responding to the Reels published on Facebook: today, in fact, it is possible use only the like or comment while, in the future, it may be possible to reply with Reactions, a choice of 7 emojis (angry, sad, surprised, softened, giggling, thumbs up, and heart face). At the moment, however, no data has emerged on the timing of the launch of the novelty, in the form of a test or stable release.

Another future project by Facebook is the construction of the Mataverso. In this regard, the Menlo Park giant has formalized, according to Reuters, an agreement with VNTANA, an American company active in AR technologies applied to marketing, in order to allow customer brands to upload 3D models of their brands to Facebook and Instagram. products, which can then be explored from various angles in the three-dimensional advertisements that will appear on smartphones and PCs. This collaboration is reminiscent of the one of some time ago, drawn up with Modiface and PerfectCorp, to allow cosmetics and beauty brands to offer AR and 3D ads of their products.

Also in Metaverso, the social media giant announced that it has inaugurated a new engineering hub in Toronto, Canada which, over the years, will come to include 2,500 professionals, whose hiring has already begun, also in the territory Canadian. The aim is obviously to create specific divisions in charge of imagining and creating the worlds of the Metaverse of tomorrow.

Obviously, Meta, formerly Facebook Inc, is not a company for everyone in the world. In this regard, in the course of a podcast conducted by Lex Fridman, computer scientist at MIT, Mark Zuckerberg stated that, in a world where one thinks mainly by objectives, connections are also very important and, therefore, in a candidate who is presents to work at Meta he evaluates to understand if he will be able to weave a bond with the same (“I will hire someone to work for me only if I could see me working for them”), because he is of the idea that creating a compatible environment opens the way to being able reach new possibilities together.

With its back now covered by a new agreement between the European institutions and the White House regarding the flow of data from continental customers to the American servers of the hi-tech giants, Meta, which in the past had said it was concerned by the fact that, not being able to operate this flow would have had difficulty in offering his services in Europe, he flirted with the Republicans, through the consulting firm Targeted Victory, with the aim – according to a Washington Post investigation – to organize a media campaign that would put in bad light, in the eyes of the public (and regulatory bodies), the dangerous competitor TikTok of which, for example, through the Bad TikTok Clips collection, it was highlighted how it has lent its side to dangerous challenges that have resulted in acts of vandalism in the American schools.
