Having obtained the Wow effect with the new top X80 range, Vivo, yet another brand of the Chinese group BBK Electronics, has given an heir to the previous mid-range Y76s through the new Vivo Y77 5G, just presented in China.

Animated (under the FuntouchOS 12 interface) from Android 12, the Vivo Y77 5G (164.17 x 75.8 x 8.59 mm for about 194 grams) has a rather traditional front design, with a teardrop notch on the forehead: the fingerprint scanner it remains on the side, with the back, in pink or blue, which makes the real stylistic qualitative leap, thanks to the bumper baptized “Deco”, in which two large rings house the sensors of the dual camera. Along the perimeter of the chassis there is also the 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones or wired earphones.

The display of the Vivo Y77 5G is personified by a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, resolved in FullHD +, with 120 Hz of refresh rate: the selfiecamera stops at 8 megapixels while, behind, the dual camera provides a 50 megapixel sensor (main) and a 2 megapixel one (secondary, for macros).

The processing section includes a processor launched in May, the Mediatek Dimensity 930 octacore, made by TSMC with a 6 mm lithographic process, in which, together with six 2.0 GHz Cortex A55 cores, two 2.2 GHz Cortex A78 cores operate: the GPU is represented by the IMG BXM-8-256 graphics card. For RAM, LPPDR4x, we are talking about 12 GB, while storage, UFS 2.1, reaches 256 GB. The battery, from 5,000 mAh, thanks to the double cell system, is able to recharge quickly, via microUSB Type-C, at 80W.

According to what CeoTech announces, the Vivo Y77 5G, precisely equipped with the new mobile connectivity, is not yet listed on the official Vivo store, with a debut that could take place off-line: the price, however, is 1,999 yuan, roughly 290 euro, with the arrival also in Malaysia, on 7 July, but with the Dimensity 810 processor.
