WhatsApp: news for group surveys, Rapid Reactions in development

After the latest news, relating to the evolution of the multi-device account function, WhatsApp messaging is back in the spotlight again for other discoveries made by leakers, regarding the functions of group surveys and Reactions.

With the beta 2.2215.1 of WhatsApp for Desktop, it was possible to appreciate how Menlo Park was also preparing for the iteration on the computer the system of group surveys spotted on the mobile side. The availability of the subsequent beta 2.2216.2 has allowed us to appreciate, again with regard to the Desktop version of the platform, the aspect that this function will have, completely the same as seen on iOS.

The operation is also the same and, in particular, provides that, once a poll is sent, all members of the group will be able to vote on one of the options provided, and see all the votes that have been cast. However, there is a problem, which could depend on the still embryonic nature of the function in question: at the moment, in fact, it is not possible to link a given user to a particular expressed preference option (i.e. to see who voted for what).

As known, WhatsApp is also working on a system of reactions via emoji which, apparently, will also allow the use of more than the 6 default emojis of the system: Menlo Park, however, has progressed in the development of this novelty, as demonstrated by the leakers. of WABetaInfo who, in particular, noticed how quick Reactions are in preparation (on WhatsApp Desktop, although it is likely that the function will also arrive on the mobile side). The latter, a bit like the Reactions to Stories on Instagram, will allow you to respond to the Status of a contact with one of the 8 emojis made available by the chat app, represented by the vote 100, the party popper, the hands that applaud or who have come, from the smiley faces, are sad, surprised, have their eyes at heart.

To date, the Reaction sent to a status would tend to translate into an emoji displayed in a chat, but the feature trackers hypothesize that one day an ad hoc interface could also be created, where you can receive the Reactions to the status updates.
