After the first rumors that emerged last March, one of the few compact smartphones on the market has finally materialized, thanks to Sony which, after the top and middle range of last week, has unveiled, in this case for the domestic market , the low-end smartphone Sony Xperia Ace III, destined to be marketed in mid-June through the operator DoCoMo.

Larger than an iPhone 13 mini (131.5 x 64.2 x 7.7 mm, for 141 grams) the new Sony Xperia Ace III has a frame, waterproof IP65 / 68 sized at 140 x 69 x 8.9 mm, with a weight of 162 grams, drawn up in four colors (black, blue, orange and gray), all with matte texture. On the front, compared to the predecessor, the same Gorilla Glass Victus protection that made its debut on Samsung’s top Galaxy Note 20 Ultra range has been added: under its glass, the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD display resolutely in HD + operates underneath its glass. at 1,496 x 720 pixels) seen on the predecessor Ace 2, unfortunately placed over a slightly too obvious chin.

The self-camera stops at 5 megapixels (f / 2.2), and chooses a water drop notch as its location. Behind, the chassis, very bare, offers a small pill at the top left which, together with the LED flash, only lines the 13 megapixel main camera (f / 1.8). Audio side, you can appreciate the presence of a 3.5 mm mini-jack, and the Hi-Res certification (also wireless).

The compact Sony Xperia Ace III places the fingerprint scanner on the right side of the power button and, inside, puts at work an eight-core processor (2 GHz), the Snapdragon 480 5G which, presented in January 2021, it uses an 8 nanometer lithography and an Adreno 619 GPU: the RAM is 4 GB, while the storage reaches up to 64 GB, gaining a necessary expandability, up to 1 TB, via microSD.

The battery, engineered to give the best of itself even after 3 years, amounts to 4,500 mAh of capacity and the autonomy can be extended if the Stamina mode is used. Powered by Android 12, the new Sony Xperia Ace III supports GPS, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, microUSB Type-C, 5G (with 1.7 Gbps downlink) and NFC for contactless payments. .
